Jaime wrestled in high school. In 1987 He was the runner up in the California State Championships. He is skilled in boxing, wrestling and currently holds a purple belt in Jiu jitsu under Cassio Werneck.
Jara began wrestling in high school placing 2nd in the California state championships and holding a record of 56-1. After a brief stint in college, Jara decided to dedicate himself to the martial arts. He earned his black belt and thereafter opened his own school.
Fighting on Showtime on a nationally televised event for ELITEXC and King of the Cage. Gladiator Challenge Middleweight Champion Jaime "El Cucui" Jara made history with a devastating left hook which smashed in the face of Gladiator Challenge Welterweight Champion Jeremiah Metcalf at 4:15 of the 1st round for a KO victory. The victory gave Jaime, Metcalf's World Welterweight Title and a place in history becoming the 1st to hold 5 different titles, Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight and now the Welterweight Title of the World for gladiator challenge. Now Jaime is the holder of the Pure Combat Middle Weight title.
